When young mum Leila Wilcox washed her son Troy with conventional baby toiletries his eczema flared up and was painful for days. She found that by cutting out the chemical SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate)- found in 90% of children’s toiletries- Troy’s eczema disappeared and his skin was never better. Leila discovered that products not containing this chemical were hard to come by, expensive and often odourless, colourless and not much fun to use at bath time.
When the Channel 4 show ‘Make Me a Million’ advertised for budding entrepreneurs, Leila realised this was her chance to bring her idea for a children’s toiletries range free from chemicals linked to eczema and asthma but still fun to use, to market. Leila subsequently won the show and her range, Halos N Horns was quickly snapped up by major supermarkets. Halos N Horns avoids the chemicals: SLS, SLES, Triclosan, MIT, Phthalates, Parabens and Propylene Glycol. The formulations are all hypoallergenic and kind to eyes and best of all come in four delicious smelling fruity varieties that children enjoy being washed with to avoid battles at bath time!
